The TKWide is, as the name suggests, a flask with a wide opening which will accommodate all kinds of food and keep it either hot or cold as required. This might not be a unique feature but with its leak proof ‘café cap’ it can also be used as a drinks container when required, making it a dual purpose and far more flexible flask.
Quite the capacity
Lined with food grade stainless steel the inside surface is very easy to keep clean and will not retain or impart flavours. With a 473ml capacity, the TKWide will hold a very good-sized drink and all sorts of foodstuffs (three sausages and some baked beans fits nicely). This large capacity version holds more than enough fluid for at least two piping hot brews during a day out. The contents can be kept hot for up to 14 hours or cold for up to 47 hours and tea that had been in the flask for six hours was still a bit too hot to drink straight away. The café cap has a really well-designed drinking spout, which is opened and closed with a 90-degree twist of the inner cap, and it keeps dirt and flies away from the contents of the flask.
Clever design
The internal ‘thread’ of the TKWide is not the traditional spiral groove and instead uses an arrangement of small bumps in the stainless steel, in rows, that the thread on the cap engages with. This gives a very secure closure and is much easier to clean than a standard thread, very clever thinking indeed. The slim design of the flask fits into most cup holders and the Klean Coat finish is very durable and chip resistant.
Conclusion
Available in a variety of sizes and colours, the TKWide is a great product at a very reasonable price. The clever design features make it very easy to keep clean and the high-quality build is backed up with a limited lifetime warranty.
